Add 5 foods into your diet:

.) Walnuts: Walnuts are full of omega-3 fatty acids, which help keep your scalp hydrated.  And a hydrated scalp means beautiful hair! They’re also a great source of biotin, a b-complex vitamin that helps your body metabolize fats and proteins and promotes healthy skin and hair.  Walnuts also contain vitamin E, which helps protect your cells from DNA damage and promotes hair growth.

.) Leafy greens: According to Livestrong, people sometimes take folic acid to help their hair grow.  Veggies like spinach, broccoli, Swiss chard and kale are full of folate, iron and vitamin C.  So load up on those leafy greens and prepare for healthier locks!

.) Sweet potatoes: Ever heard of beta-carotene? It’s a orange pigment that your body turns into vitamin A during the digestion process.  Vitamin A is a key factor when it comes to the growth and renewal of new skin cells, which includes those on your scalp! Sweet potatoes are full of beta-carotene, and so are carrots, cantaloupe, pumpkin and more.

.) Strawberries, orange and blueberries: All of these fruits are high in vitamin C, which is super important for circulation to your scalp and helps the tiny blood vessels that feed your hair follicles.  According to WebMD, too little vitamin C in your diet can lead to hair breakage!  Another plus – blueberries are full of antioxidants that can protect your skin from premature aging.

.) Beans: Protein is a building block of healthy hair.  If you don’t get enough, your hair will grow more slowly and get weaker.  Legumes like kidney beans and lentils are a great source of iron-rich protein!
