Incorporate Coconut Oil into your beauty routine

5 different ways to incorporate coconut oil into your beauty routine:

1.) Hair mask: You won’t believe how shiny and smooth your hair will feel after this! Just grab a chunk of coconut oil and warm it between your hands.  Smooth it through your dry hair, starting from the bottom and concentrating on the ends.  Once you’ve distributed it throughout your hair, wrap your hair on top of your head and wait 30 minutes (or you can even leave it on overnight).  Rinse it out in the shower and follow with your normal shampoo and conditioner – I promise you’ll feel (and see) the difference!  (For extra moisture, put on a shower cap and step into your shower for the last 10 minutes – the steam and heat will open up your hair follicles and allow the coconut oil to penetrate even further!)

2.) Body moisturizer: To give your skin a silky sheen, swap your lotion in for coconut oil right after you step out of the shower.  Be careful though – a little goes a long way and nobody wants oil marks on their sheets! The best part? Your skin will smell like cookies :)

3.) Makeup remover: Coconut oil is one of the gentlest ways to remove makeup.  Apply some to your eye area, and wipe off with a warm, damp towel.  You’ll be amazed at how fast it works!  The best part is that any leftover oil will hydrate the gentle skin around your eyes and even decrease fine lines.

4.) Body scrub:  Who needs to buy body scrub when you can make your own? Combine some sugar (brown or white) with coconut oil in a small tub and exfoliate away! Coconut oil also has anti-fungal properties, so it makes a great foot scrub as well.

5.) Shaving cream: Coconut oil makes an amazing shaving cream substitute – it gives a smooth base for your razor and any residue just leaves you with shiny, supermodel legs! It’s a great option for those of you who might be allergic or sensitive to all the chemicals in ordinary shave creams.
