How much Water do you Drink a Day?

Water, water everywhere right?  Or no?  Do you have an App on your phone to track it?  If not, I have four suggestions for you!
Are you drinking the recommended eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day?  Water is an essential component to our bodies and should be included in your liquid consumption each day.  If you are not drinking enough water each day you will feel tired,  your skin will begin to dry and you may even suffer from constipation.  Water is also the vital ingredient in helping people control and lose weight.  A new study from Virginia Tech shows that just two 8-ounce glasses of water before meals helps people melt pounds away.  This doens’t mean that water is a magic potion, but that drinking water may help people shed pounds because it has no calories and fills up the stomach, making people less hungry.  Water simply makes people feel fuller and induces them to eat less food.
So how much water DO you consume in a day?  There are four new phone applications for you to try to help you stay on track with your water consumption and will possibly help you to lose weight.  The idea is to make sure that you drink the right amount of water in a day.
The first app is called “Drinking Water” and will easily track your water drinking habits.  It is very simple and is a great tool to see if you have been achieving your daily intake.
The next one is “Drinking Water for Fit”. This one is similar to the first app however this one has a cool feature with animation.  ”Drinking Water for Fit” sports a Water Droid character that will show how happy it is when you drink enough water.  And in turn will start to get unhappy if you are falling short.
“Drink Water Beta” is a third app that is similar to the other two however it also features a popup dashboard, historical consumption graph, notifications and much more!
Last, but not least, is “8 Cups a Day Drinking Water” which will actually score your drinking history.  This app mixes real life and gaming, so when you drink enough water ini a day you will level up in the app.  How fun!
Next time you sit down for a meal, drink at least two 8-ounce glasses of water before you eat and track it on your handy dandy phone app.  This, in addition to counting your calories, will hopefully help you be mindful of your drinking and eating each day and will help you on your weight loss/control journey!
