Think spicy tuna rolls are divine? Be
warned: A study of more than 1,200 seafood samples across the country found that
a third were mislabled and replaced with cheaper, lower-grade fish. In sushi
bars in particular, 74 percent of fish was fraudulently marketed! Most of the
time, white “tuna” was really a fish called escolar, which can cause diarrhea.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions like: “What kind of fish is this?,” “Where was
it caught?” and “Where’s the nearest pizza place?”
