Do you have a picky eater on your hands? No need to worry. Next time you’re in the kitchen, incorporate veggies in a fun, enjoyable yet sneaky way. We have several tricks up our sleeves to help our loved ones get in all the vitamins and nutrients they need!
Blend!
Smoothies can be made with just about anything. Fruit smoothies are sweet and delicious and can easily mask the taste of greens. Hide in anything from Bok Choy and spinach to Swiss chard and avocado. Follow a recipe or get creative and build your own—you can’t go wrong with a smoothie!
Puree, Puree, Puree!
Who doesn’t love pizza? For the vegetable-adverse, plain cheese or meat on top of meat is the order. However, if loading up a pizza with veggie toppings just wont fly, try pureeing some spinach and adding it into a homemade or canned pizza sauce. They won’t know the difference!
Don’t stop at pizza; follow that Italian flavor right to pasta! Whip up some veggie packed sauces and pour over vegetable based pastas such as spinach fettuccini. Mimic an Alfredo sauce by substituting all that cream and cheese for cauliflower puree . Tuck in those veggies any place you can!
Instead of sauce, how about a soup? Same methods apply. Pick your veggies, roast or steam, then puree! Pureed veggies are an easy and tasty way to thicken up any stock.
Mix!
Carrot muffins or zucchini bread? Yes, please! We admit, baked goods aren’t the healthiest but they sure are yummy! Boost the nutrition contents by mixing in shredded veggies or purees. Practical anything can become a stealthy vegetable vehicle, even birthday cake!
We love our veggies and want everyone to enjoy them too! There are many more ways to sneak in the greens.
