Smoothies taste even better when they're in a bowl! Wake up your morning with this recipe for a berry peanut butter smoothie bowl.
3 pieces of frozen banana
- 3 frozen strawberries
- 4 frozen blackberries
- 1/2 cup of skim milk
- scoop of ground Salba
- small scoop of chia seeds
- small bit of raw cacao nibs
- small scoop of peanut butter
- blended and topped with Bare Naked "Fit" Vanilla Almond Crunch granola
I want to try adding spinach to the smoothie next time, to make a Green Monster Smoothie Bowl.
There are so many ways you can make this breakfast, and it is just soooo delicious. And for me, it is much more satisfying than just drinking my breakfast. I never feel fulfilled that way.
Now, for the cleanup — it is SO FAST AND EASY. Maybe everyone does this and I'm just not aware, but this is something I've been doing since college (where I shared my roommate's vitamix..... oh vitamix, how I miss you). Once you are done making breakfast, give your blender a quick rinse in the sink (maybe wipe away some peanut butter if it stuck to the sides), and then put some soap in the bottom and fill the blender 2/3 of the way with hot water. Put the top on, put it back on the blender, and blend! This cleans the blades and the glass really well. If anything is stuck to the sides afterward, it will wipe away easily with a sponge. Rinse and let dry! Perfect! I guess if you have a dishwasher you don't have to worry about the cleanup quite as much . . . but I don't have one of those magical things, so I have to clean my blender the old-fashioned way. Cleanup is so quick and easy that I have no excuse to not make a delicious, healthy breakfast each morning
