Daily Aha! w/ Dr. Oz

Daily Aha!
Aiming to lose 2 to 4 pounds, rather than 3 pounds exactly, makes you more likely to keep at it.
According to a new study, when we have a goal that’s a range, we’re more driven to achieve it. We see the high end of the goal (“lose four pounds!”) as a motivating challenge, and the low end as something totally possible, so that the goal in its entirety strikes a balance between attainable and reaching. A single-number goal, on the other hand, seems both less challenging and less attainable, which often means we’re more likely to give up. Pssst: It’s not just true for weight loss!
