LEMON

A to Z - Medicinal Properties of Ingredients - LEMON

Pucker up to the strong antibacterial, antiviral, and immune-boosting powers of lemon. This zesty ingredient is a must in many of the Urban Remedy Cleanses which you can purchase here: http://bit.ly/TN7qjd

Lemons are most commonly known for their use as a weight loss aid because its juices are a digestive aid and liver cleanser. They also con...tain citric acid, calcium, magnesium, vitamin C, bioflavonoids, pectin, and limonene--that promote immunity and fight infection.

More great things about lemons:
- They are one of the most important antioxidant containing fruit in nature.
- Scientists have shown that our bodies can readily absorb and utilize a very long-acting limonoid called limonin that is present is citrus fruits in about the same amount as vitamin C.
- Lemon juice stimulates the release of gastric juices, including saliva, which aids digestion. Because it consists of citric acid, it exfoliates the skin, scrubbing away old and dead skin cells to make skin appear more glowing and clear.

Did you know?
In several villages in West Africa where cholera epidemics had occurred, the inclusion of lime juice during the main meal of the day was determined to have been protective against the contraction of cholera.
