The flavour washes over my tongue and mellows my soul, the scent and warmth relieve my mind and bring me to peace as a whole
For here is my cup filled with tea leaves ground down to a fine, the sound of my kettle boiling, hot water brings my cup to life
For in the mix of earthly browns, of milk and sugar, and sometimes honey, tea brings me calm, to sit back and watch the world keep going, for me the clocks seem to all slow down
In this peace and moment tranquil no thoughts even cross my mind, only the soothing taste of tea and me and how warmly it washes down, its been my friend on days when I’m late, and lagging quite behind, days when I’m ahead with time to spare or days when I’m not fine
All I know is I brew a cup to ease my unsettled mind, my fingers cross the news print and stories come to life, in tea leaves and tranquility everything is fine
Then I stare at the bottom of my cup and come to realize I’ve drank it all away, at least for now, I continue on with my tasks just to brew some more earthly wonder later in the day….
