Health and Wellness Festival

The Values Institute, a social science market research think tank, expects veganism to be one of the top five health and wellness trends in 2013. They report that "last year’s rise of the flexitarians is foreshadowing a trend toward meatle...ss eating and outright veganism, vegetarianism’s older brother.... Even professional athletes like Venus Williams and Arian Foster, whose bodies are their livelihood, have made the switch.... Look for herbivore-accommodating menus at restaurants on both coasts to start migrating to mid-America in 2013." Other top trends they identify are increasing consciousness about wasting food, workplace wellness programs, eating more and smaller "mini-meals" and healthy snacking, and increasing gluten-free options.

A one-day Festival of Health & Wellness  will be held at the Carriage House Inn on March 10, Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

“The day is designed to stimulate the brain and delight the senses,” she said.
The cost is $15, includes admission and all workshops. There are also prizes, goodie bags, samples and more.
