A Map To Your Wholeness
by Dana Mrkich
Why is it that so many of us, no matter how much we spiritually know, physically achieve or materially accumulate, still don’t feel the happiness or inner peace we desire? We are all looking for that one ingredient that will give us the answer, that will fill that ‘something is missing’ feeling. We are told the answer lies in being more spiritual, more successful, more anything. We try these things and still we don’t feel fulfilled. Why? Usually it’s because we are focusing only on certain parts of who we are, while neglecting or avoiding the rest.
On the journey of life we become disconnected from aspects of ourselves, aspects we have hidden, forgotten about or don’t value. This gives us a sense that something is missing, that we have a hole inside that we need to fill. Of course, nothing is missing. There is no hole. We just need to re-connect to all of who we are. The urge to ‘fill the hole’ is a call from your soul to feel your whole.
Are you meditating every day but repressing the part of you that wants to build an empire? Are you making loads of money but can’t remember the last time you did something you really love to do, just for fun? Just like a car, each part of us has a vital role, each part affects the other in some way, and each part has to be cared for in order for the whole to function. When we deny or repress even one part, the whole can’t work properly!
If you would like to get in touch with and express more of your true self, your chakras can show you the way. Chakras are centres of energy that run throughout your body. They provide a natural map to follow for connecting to your wholeness. Each emanates a ray of coloured energy and is in charge of different aspects of your self and life. Each carries vital information about who you are, including beliefs, fears, dreams, past memories and untapped future potential. These unseen parts of you contain truths that lie in your heart and soul, wounds that need attention and healing, and gifts that are waiting to be revealed.
Following is a description of each of the 7 main chakras, including simple ways you can strengthen your connection to them:
Red Root Chakra (base of your torso): Physical health, grounded in your humanity and physical reality, ability to create abundance, manifest your dreams and visions, connect to right work, how safe, secure and supported you feel in the world.
