Q: What does your vagina have in common with a shark?

A: They both produce a slippery substance called squalene.
Yes, you read that right. The fluid produced in your vagina is made up of proteins, acids and squalene, a natural lubricant. Squalene is also commercially extracted from shark liver oil to bolster pharmaceutical vaccines. Some other places squalene shows up: your fingerprints, your bloodstream, eggs, lipstick and baby powder.
